Parallel was an experiment using two versions of the same image taken at the Genessee Monastery in New York. To me, it explores the mystery and perception of reality, that which is seen and unseen, known and unknown.
This was part of my solo show entitled NEXT at the Massillon Museum in 2008-9.
Art has become a meaningful way for me to process and explore the complexities of life in tandem with living it. I am committed to creating and exhibiting my artwork, which has been exhibited in various regional and national venues. My current work incorporates my photography into a variety of different media. I often integrate layers into my work to create juxtapositions conveying visual and conceptual depth. Recurring themes in my work include the transience of life in time, as well as exploring diverse natural, cultural, and architectural spaces. As a result, I find travel to be amazingly inspiring as it offers me the opportunity to find new imagery and metaphors for my work.
