Solitude was the first mixed media piece I made using a variety of photo transfer processes. The images used were taken while hiking at the Genessee Monastery in New York. The embedded text ponders the concept of space for oneself and the joy that can be experienced when one carves out space to be alone.
This was exhibited in the 65th Annual May Show at The Little Art Gallery. It was awarded 1st place in mixed media.
Art has become a meaningful way for me to process and explore the complexities of life in tandem with living it. I am committed to creating and exhibiting my artwork, which has been exhibited in various regional and national venues. My current work incorporates my photography into a variety of different media. I often integrate layers into my work to create juxtapositions conveying visual and conceptual depth. Recurring themes in my work include the transience of life in time, as well as exploring diverse natural, cultural, and architectural spaces. As a result, I find travel to be amazingly inspiring as it offers me the opportunity to find new imagery and metaphors for my work.
